Hailing from Siliguri in West Bengal, 25-year-old Dipika Aggarwal is the Founder-Director and Creative Head at Opancho. A globetrotter having travelled to several countries such as France, Switzerland, Singapore, Thailand, Greece, and Netherlands, she always had a penchant for all things stylish, comfort-giving and luxurious.
Opancho which came into existence in 2015, is the result of Dipika’s diverse exposure to different cultures through globetrotting and communicating with people. While pursing the 9 to 5 office goers’ career in her early days, Dipika would have to struggle constantly to find the right footwear with her formal outfits. This is when she realized that the majority of high-end footwear options available in the market for women would either be wedding wear or partywear heels, but these are not enough for the ladies.
With this thought in mind, Dipika decided to conduct an intense market research, wherein she found that hers was not a sole struggle, but indeed a real predicament for many office-going urban women of mixed age groups.
Since Opancho came into being she has been looking after every minute detail that goes behind everything that her company does, starting from manufacturing to packaging and from quality-checks to marketing and distribution. Not only does she contribute towards the creative side of Opancho, but also leads the company’s employees from the front, with hands-on demonstration and decision-making.As a champion of gender equality and women’s rights herself, Dipika earnestly believes that building a conducive work culture for women in our society is of paramount importance. Thus, she is striving to inculcate these moral values in her company, whilst working to solve the issue through Opancho’s product offerings.

One Life-changing Incident: That would be when I started working as an RJ. I once received a call from a rickshaw-wala who ran a rented rickshaw for survival, it had been raining for the past ten days and he told me he couldn’t take the rickshaw out because it had been raining so there was no income instead he had to pay the daily rent too. It was devastating to see how rain just meant fritters and tea for most, could also be such a difficult thing for the others. Talking to people I realised there’s so much everyone deals with on a daily basis and we are indeed blessed. It made me love my life even more and taught me that happiness lies in the little things.
